People try and understand what mindfulness is.
It’s a word
What more, “how do I practice it? How do I “be” in the moment?”
A mountain is created through its creation.
The sky is what it is because it’s the sky.
Can you picture the Buddha sitting under the bodhi tree the moment he discovered enlightenment?
A proverb of Zen goes along the lines of “if you have to ask if you have it, you do not.”
So how do we really practice mindfulness?
And you will, sure enough, be mindful.
The real search people are looking for is love.
And because we are at all ungrateful for what’s in front of us, thinking about tomorrow, we miss what’s in front of us.
This could be a snuggle session with the pups. Or a home cooked meal with your family. Laughter instead of anger.
It’s hard to come home after working a long day and give love to those around you. But you have to.
Don’t miss the little moments.
Mindfulness is a breath in your lungs. The calm, cool air on your face. It’s an “I love you” instead of being upset about something small.
A life of gratitude is much more fulfilling than a life of accomplishment.
And there is no real accomplishment without gratitude.
